Is it Good? No. Is it Done?...Maybe?

The whole point behind this game wasn’t really to make something on the level that you see when you go through the store. This was mainly to get used to the process of creating a game and releasing it. I don’t expect anyone to really play this - or even discover this page. I just want to put something out and reflect on the experience before moving forward towards more stable and innovative game concepts that I can capture better.

Here’s what went right:

  • Taking those courses and getting used to building something from scratch using this engine was great. It was nice to see something up and going so quickly.
  • The process that I formed which involved carving out time - an hour or two every other day, helped me see firm progress towards a goal. The main goal behind this project was to simply create a 20 level puzzle platformer game using the skills that I’ve learned.

What could’ve gone better:

  • I think my idea for the game got too big. I wanted to create an entire world within Mary’s mind and artistically draw that out. Thing is though, This project was meant to be simple. While the idea sounds nice. I need to make sure that it fits with the overall goal of the project.

Well, This is yet another “restart” for me. If you’ve seen my page, you can tell that I’ve had a couple in the past with different engines. I’m hoping to go up from here. I’m planning for my next game to feel a little more complete.
